Car Barn: Revitalizing Hershey's Heritage of community And Innovation
This design concept, presented for the owner's consideration, envisioned transforming a historic industrial facility in downtown Hershey into a vibrant, multi-functional space for a local business.
The proposal included retail spaces, conferencing areas, and private lounges, blending modern functionality with an authentic industrial aesthetic. Raw materials and salvaged components, such as exposed brick and steel beams, celebrated the building’s rugged history, while refined details added comfort and sophistication.
This adaptive reuse concept honored the facility’s heritage while showcasing its potential to foster community connection and support evolving community needs. It offered a vision where history and innovation come together to celebrate Hershey’s unique legacy.
